In the wake of widespread flooding caused by heavy rains, the government has issued a stern warning to schools nationwide against resuming operations.

Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, speaking on the Hot 96 Breakfast show, emphasized the need for strict adherence to President William Ruto's directive.

President Ruto has instructed the Ministry of Education to defer the reopening of all schools "until further notice," citing the likelihood of escalating challenges in the days ahead.

"The Ministry of Education is directed to postpone the reopening of all schools in the country for the second term until further notice," reiterated Ruto on Friday.
