Satellite imagery captured the storm as it crossed the Pacific Ocean, heading straight for Japan’s eastern coastline. The system, identified as Typhoon Dujuan, is expected to bring intense winds and heavy rainfall to the region.
Japanese authorities have issued a large‑scale evacuation advisory, warning almost two million people in Tokyo and surrounding prefectures to leave their homes. Police forces are actively urging residents to heed the warning and move to safer locations.
The approaching typhoon is already causing significant disruption, with transport services expected to be halted and infrastructure at risk of flooding. Meteorologists predict that the heavy precipitation could lead to landslides and flash floods in vulnerable areas.
Residents are being asked to prepare emergency kits, stay informed through official channels and avoid unnecessary travel until the storm passes.
