The 5% Google will deduct from Kenyan YouTube earnings is not necessarily the creator’s final tax bill. For some YouTubers, the bigger calculation comes when they file their annual income tax return. Google will begin withholding 5% from finalised YouTube earnings paid to Kenya-based AdSense accounts, starting with September 2026 earnings paid in October.
