Farouk Kibet, a close associate of President William Ruto, has weighed in on the stance of the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) regarding Raila Odinga's candidacy for the African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson position.

During a fundraising event at AIC church in Tapsagoi, Uasin Gishu County, Farouk characterized UDA's decision to support Raila's bid as a gesture towards the opposition leader.

Contrary to speculation, Farouk dismissed the notion that the government's backing of Raila was driven by fear or an attempt to sideline him from Kenyan politics. He framed it as a benevolent act by the Kenya Kwanza government.

“We are supporting him not out of fear, but as an act of kindness. Even God will recognize our generosity as Kenyans,” Farouk remarked.

Farouk also expressed frustration with Raila's consistent claims of electoral rigging after each election cycle, stating that the ruling coalition has grown weary of such assertions.

Moreover, Farouk alleged that John Mbadi, the Chairperson of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has been actively working to sabotage Raila's bid for the AU Chairmanship.

Challenging Raila to reflect on his past alliances, Farouk urged him to address the purported rifts with former allies like Mbadi.
