Burial Date Set for Late Ex-KTN News Anchor Michael Oyier

The funeral committee organizing the final rites of media personality Michael Oyier has announced that he will be laid to rest on May 1st, 2024, in Homa Bay County.

A requiem mass is scheduled for April 29th at the All Saints Cathedral Church in Nairobi, providing an opportunity for friends, family, and relatives to bid farewell to the departed journalist.

Prior to the burial, a fundraiser will take place on April 26th at All Saints Cathedral to help cover the hospital bills left by Oyier and to assist with other funeral expenses.

Oyier passed away on April 20th, 2024, while undergoing treatment at Nairobi Hospital. His family has created a platform for sharing memories and condolences and to provide updates on funeral arrangements.

Described as a gentleman, Oyier was a husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many. The family encourages sharing condolences, memories, and pictures to honor his memory.

Oyier, the second born in a family of five siblings, leaves behind two daughters. After departing from KTN, he pursued a career in public relations and served as an MC at various events. He spent nine years as an anchor and presenter at Standard Group before transitioning into counseling and eventually becoming an executive leadership coach until his passing.
