Key Roads Closed in Nairobi Amid Escalating Protests

Major roads in Nairobi were closed on Tuesday as demonstrations continued across various areas of the city.

Waiyaki Way and Mombasa Road at Mlolongo are among the roads that were barricaded by protesters.

Other roads were closed by police for security reasons. They include Processional Way and State House Road.

All roads leading to the State House were also closed. These include Dennis Pritt Road, State House Avenue, Valley Road, Jakaya Kikwete Road, and adjacent feeder roads.

Parliament Road and City Hall Way were also out of bounds on Tuesday for both motorists and pedestrians.

The protests were triggered by the Finance Bill, which has sparked widespread controversy and opposition. The bill was criticized for its potential economic impact, forcing President William Ruto to withdraw it after a wave of protests.

Despite this, youths have continued to protest, demanding that President Ruto initiate more reforms in his administration.
