Charlene Ruto has celebrated another milestone on her journey to marriage, hosting a bridal shower surrounded by friends and family as she prepares to wed her Tanzanian fiancé, Isaya Yunge.
The President’s daughter shared photographs of the gathering on Tuesday, November 3, giving the public a glimpse of a celebration that appeared to focus as much on friendship and faith as it did on the wedding festivities.
The event featured a white and purple colour scheme. Charlene wore a white outfit, while guests, including her sister Stephanie, were dressed mainly in shades of pink. A welcome display announced the bridal shower, while floral arrangements, decorative lighting and a carefully set dining area gave the gathering an intimate garden-party feel.
A specially decorated cake carried the messages “Miss Babe to Mrs Babe” and “Hey Mrs Yunge”, hinting at the new family identity Charlene is preparing to embrace.
But beyond the décor and photographs, it was Charlene’s message to the women in attendance that offered a more personal glimpse into the occasion.
“Grateful that the amazing women I have done life with over the years chose to celebrate me in my new season,” she wrote.
She also spoke about the role of faith in the marriage she is preparing to build, saying Christ would be its foundation and the Bible would guide her next steps.
“Christ as our solid foundation and rock, the Word to guide my next step, the laughter and joy of sisterhood and knowing I have their love and support as I start to do life with the one He kept for me,” she added.
She ended by thanking the women she affectionately called her “dadas” and girls.
From Koito to the white wedding
The bridal shower comes almost three months after Charlene and Yunge held their traditional engagement ceremony on August 8, 2026, at Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
The event, known as Koito, brought together relatives and guests from Kenya and Tanzania, as well as several prominent political figures. It marked an important step in the couple’s journey towards marriage.
Koito is an important Kalenjin marriage tradition in which the families formally meet and discuss the proposed union. The process can include conversations about bridewealth and other customary responsibilities. It is a family-centred occasion that helps establish the relationship between the two households before the wedding.
The August ceremony placed Charlene and Yunge’s relationship firmly in the public spotlight. The bridal shower has now offered another glimpse into the preparations, this time through the women and friendships supporting the bride-to-be.
While the couple’s white wedding is anticipated, its date and full arrangements have not been publicly confirmed in the reports reviewed.
For now, Charlene’s photographs tell a story of a woman celebrating the people who have walked with her, while looking ahead to a new chapter built, in her own words, on faith, love and sisterhood.
