Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance, represented by National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, expressed their support for the High Court's ruling on the legality of the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) positions. The ruling deemed the appointment of 50 CASs unconstitutional.

In response to the ruling, Wandayi stated, "We don't believe that the intention of the constitution's framers was to create 50 Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs) to act as deputies to 22 Cabinet Secretaries. The creation of these offices would impose a significant burden on the public." The court's determination emphasized the absence of public participation prior to the establishment of the 50 CAS positions.

"We fully endorse the court's decision to declare the CAS positions unconstitutional. Those who were appointed to these positions should now pack up and leave," Wandayi added.

Jared Okello, the Nyando Member of Parliament, joined in celebrating the Judiciary's decision. "I am in a celebratory mood because the court has ruled against the existence of CAS positions in Kenya," Okello expressed.

The Azimio leaders made these remarks during a public rally held in Asango, Ugunja constituency. The ruling has been welcomed by the alliance as a step towards upholding constitutional principles and ensuring that public resources are utilized effectively.
