Kenyans on Thursday, January 12, expressed concerns over a website that seemed to hoodwink users into thinking that it was government owned.
The website that goes by registration domain name, hustlers(dot)vijana(dot)buzz, asked Kenyans to submit crucial identification credentials as part of the process of getting Hustlers Fund.
It's important to note that the website is fake!
In the comment section of the website are skewed but strategically mapped replies that seem to attest to that fact that the fake website is genuine.
"I received Ksh150,000 last month from this program, Am happy. Thanks to the founder of this program," one user commented.
The other ones also claimed to have received Hustlers Fund through the website that is obviously fake.
"Just follow the instructions and you will get it straight. Just got my Funds now," another user blatantly claimed.
On it's website, the developers of the website claimed to have made easier the application process of Hustlers Empowerment Fund.
“Hustlers Empowerment Fund Application Form 2022/2023 Is Out Now. Hustlers Empowerment Funding Application Form 2022/2023 online registration exercise which is the quickest to apply for is now out for all bonafide citizens only who needs helping hands in their various Business and Education*The *Payments* has began for all applicants,Register To be Part of the Beneficiaries," wrote on the website.
The website that was registered on December 2, 2022, claims that users must first submit their names, identification numbers and phone numbers before completing the process.
The website also asked users to share the same link with their contacts on WhatsApp, mobile phones and emails.
Notably,official details about Hustlers Empowerment Fund are accessible on the programme's website.
To access the funds, Kenyans are advised to use a USSD code to apply for the loan that is disbursed through mobile money wallets.
The Hustlers Empowerment Fund has greatly been accepted by many Kenyans, despite a few challenges including a court battle over the process that was used to establish it.
