Mugithi singer Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, left fans unsettled after sharing a deeply emotional message contemplating his own mortality. The now-deleted social media post reflected on how he wishes to be remembered and hinted at a sense of finality that alarmed many of his followers.
“In case I die unexpectedly, or before my time, I want you to know that I’ve lived a full and good life,” Samidoh wrote. “Allah gave me an opportunity to travel the world, see nature at its best, and meet incredible humans. Let the world remember my name not just as a combination of letters, but a heart that burned with a flame.”
He continued with heartfelt words that read like a farewell:
“If I die young, remember the dreams we chased together—dreams of a better life not only for ourselves but for generations to come. If you ever miss me, look at the stars; I will be there shining brightly, reminding you to live your life with passion, chase your dreams, and cherish the people around you. Also, remember to tell my mama I did my best.”
The post stirred deep concern among his fans, many interpreting it as a cry for help or sign of distress. The message was removed shortly after being posted, with no explanation from the artist.
Adding to the emotional weight of the moment, Samidoh had earlier posted a birthday tribute to his estranged wife, Edday Nderitu, praising her strength and dedication to their family.
“Happy Birthday to an incredible woman and the amazing mother of our kids,” he wrote. “Your strength, resilience, and commitment to our family never go unnoticed. Grateful for the journey we’ve walked together and everything you hold down behind the scenes.”
The juxtaposition of the warm birthday message and the somber reflection on death left many speculating about the singer’s emotional state.
While Samidoh has yet to directly address the now-deleted post, fans have flooded his platforms with messages of love and support, urging him to stay strong and seek comfort during whatever he may be facing privately.
