A devastating multi-vehicle collision near Pangani on Thika Road has claimed one life and left four others with serious injuries, causing significant traffic disruption in and out of Nairobi's Central Business District.

Eyewitness reports and images from the scene indicate that several private vehicles were involved in the accident. While exact details remain unclear, it is alleged that the driver of one of the cars died on the spot due to the impact. The other occupants sustained severe injuries.

Emergency response teams arrived promptly and provided aid to the injured. However, due to the gravity of the situation, they called for additional medical support.

“We urgently need emergency ambulances at Muthaiga to save the lives of four people who are seriously injured. Our ambulance is already attending to another accident involving a boda boda rider,” read a statement from Sikika Road Safety, a local road safety initiative.

The collision led to heavy traffic congestion along Thika Road, with motorists being advised to remain patient and consider alternative routes as authorities worked to clear the wreckage.

Police are yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the crash.
