President William Ruto is set to embark on a four-day tour across the Nyanza region, leading up to the 2025 Madaraka Day celebrations, which for the first time will be hosted at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay County on Sunday, June 1.
The president’s itinerary, beginning Thursday, May 29, is packed with development-focused engagements across Migori, Homa Bay, and surrounding counties, showcasing major investments in infrastructure, education, and the blue economy.
Thursday, May 29: Kicking Off in Migori and Ndhiwa
The president begins his tour in Migori County, where he will meet local leaders at the Sony Sugar Grounds in the morning. The forum will address key regional development priorities and collaboration with the county government.
In the afternoon, Ruto will proceed to Ndhiwa Constituency in Homa Bay, where he is expected to:

Inspect the Gor Mahia Ring Road,

Launch a Sh2 billion Last Mile Electricity project, and

Lay the foundation stone for a new Technical Training Institute (TTI).
The TTI is aimed at expanding access to technical education and creating career pathways for young people in remote communities.
Ruto will spend the night at the Homa Bay State Lodge.
Friday, May 30: Championing the Blue Economy
Friday will see President Ruto at Tom Mboya University (TMU) for the closing ceremony of the Blue Economy Conference, a flagship initiative positioning Kenya to capitalize on its maritime and water-based economic potential.
He will:

Launch the Kenya School of Law – TMU Maritime Centre of Excellence, a training hub for professionals in the maritime and fisheries sectors,
