NTV videographer Josiah Mugo, who was based at the station’s Nyeri bureau, has died at his home after battling an illness, his family has confirmed.
Mugo’s death was announced on Friday, August 8, 2026, prompting messages of condolence from colleagues, friends and members of the media fraternity.
Nation Media Group CEO Geoffrey Odundo mourned Mugo, describing his death as a loss to the organisation and recognising his contribution to journalism through his work as a cameraman.

Mugo was known for his work covering stories from Nyeri and the wider Central Kenya region for NTV.
The exact nature of the illness he had been battling has not been publicly disclosed.
