Bahati’s KSh1 Million Wedding Invitation Sparks Debate as He Says Event Is for “Ballers”

09, Oct 2026 / 3 min read / By Maureen Onyango

Kenyan musician Bahati is standing by the KSh1 million price tag for invitations to his upcoming wedding celebration with Diana Marua, turning their 10-year relationship milestone into one of the country’s latest celebrity talking points.

The couple have set 6 November 2026 for the event and say attendance will be limited to 100 guests. That means the invitations could bring in as much as KSh100 million if every seat is sold at the announced price.

But that figure is only a calculation based on the stated price and guest limit. There is no confirmation that all invitations have been purchased, or that the event will generate that amount.

Bahati has also made it clear that he is not planning to lower the price. In a follow-up statement reported by K24 Digital on Friday, 9 October, he said the occasion was “all about the ballers”.

He also questioned whether anyone was still waiting for the price to drop, suggesting the couple intend to maintain the premium cost.

Diana confirms November 6 date

The announcement came as Bahati and Diana marked 10 years together. Bahati said he had decided to replace his usual anniversary gifts with a formal celebration of their relationship.

“On this special day we will only have 100 people in attendance, and anyone that would like to attend must pay KSh 1 million to get the invite,” he said.

Diana also confirmed the date, telling prospective guests: “Ladies and gentlemen, November 6, 2026, is the Bahatis’ big day. Call now and purchase the invite.”

The couple have shared much of their relationship and family life publicly, building an audience through music, social media and online content. Their latest announcement gives fans another milestone to follow, although the invitation price places physical attendance beyond the reach of many.

A wedding promise years in the making

The announcement follows years of public discussion about the couple’s plans for a formal wedding. Bahati and Diana have been together since 2016 and held a traditional ceremony in 2017, according to previous entertainment reports.

In May 2026, Bahati spoke about a proposed KSh100 million wedding budget after Diana questioned why they had spent so long together without holding the celebration they had discussed.

The November date now gives the plans a specific timetable. However, the couple’s previous wedding announcements have drawn attention over the years, so the event’s eventual format and details remain worth watching as the date approaches.

The KSh1 million invitation price has also become central to the story. If all 100 invitations were sold at that rate, the total would reach KSh100 million before expenses. That would not be the same as profit, and there is no evidence that the couple have already raised the full amount through invitations.

For now, the confirmed details are the announced date, the 100-person limit and the stated price. The venue, final attendance and number of invitations sold have not been independently confirmed.

The question is no longer just when Bahati and Diana will celebrate a decade together. It is whether the high-priced invitation model will translate into actual sales—or remain the most talked-about part of their wedding plans.
