Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi Expresses Concern Over Lack of Engagement Between Ruto's Government and Azimio

In a recent statement, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi emphasized that President William Ruto's efforts to stabilize the country's economy would be hampered if his government fails to engage with the Opposition. Osotsi pointed out that the ongoing political tensions between the two sides, Kenya Kwanza and Azimio, present a serious challenge that must be addressed promptly.

Speaking on Citizen TV, Osotsi highlighted the significance of the Opposition, stating that it controls half of the country's support. He stressed that the current administration cannot overlook the need for dialogue and collaboration with the Opposition, as neglecting to do so could negatively impact the country's economic performance.

"Some people may downplay the issue, but Azimio wields considerable influence and garnered significant support in the elections with a margin of 200,000 votes. When such a large segment of the country stands against the sitting regime, it inevitably affects the overall economic stability. Addressing this problem promptly is crucial for the government's success," Osotsi remarked.

The Senator's comments came in response to President William Ruto's recent assurances that his administration has succeeded in stabilizing the nation's economy. Speaking on Sunday about the country's economic trajectory, Ruto expressed confidence in the progress made, attributing it to diligent efforts and strategic planning.

The President, who has been a staunch advocate of his Bottom Up Economic Transformation (BETA) policy, asserted that Kenya is now in safe hands and headed towards stability. Ruto specifically highlighted the government's success in curbing reckless borrowing as a significant factor in the country's economic turnaround.

However, Senator Osotsi's remarks underscore the importance of political inclusivity and dialogue to achieve sustainable economic stability. With Azimio representing a significant portion of the population, the need for constructive engagement and collaboration between political factions becomes even more apparent. As the country strives to build a stronger and more prosperous future, addressing political differences and finding common ground may be critical to ensure collective progress and national prosperity.
