Outgoing Treasury CS Ukur Yatani has given himself a pat on the back, saying he leaves the docket knowing he did a good job.
In his final speech as National Treasury Cabinet Secretary under the Uhuru Kenyatta administration, Yatani said he has no regrets whatsoever over his track record.
"I exit the National Treasury with my head high, knowing that I did my best," Yatani said.
Yatani will be succeeded by former CBK Governor Njuguna Ndung'u whose nomination was approved on Wednesday by Parliament.
The 22-member Cabinet nominees will be sworn in on Thursday at State House, Nairobi. The event will be witnessed by President William Ruto.
Yatani was one of Uhuru's most trusted lieutenants as he steered the country through a turbulent economic phase underpinned by the ravaging effects of Covid-19, rising inflation and soaring debt obligation.
The former Ambassador was appointed Treasury Secretary on January 14, 2020, to succeed Henry Rotich who was hounded out of office over alleged corruption.
