PS Esther Ngero Resigns Following Ruto's Cabinet Reshuffle

After serving for just five months, Esther Ngero, the Principal Secretary for Correctional Services, has tendered her resignation. President William Ruto received and accepted her resignation on Tuesday, May 23.

In her resignation letter addressed to President Ruto, Ngero cited personal reasons for her decision to step down. The President acknowledged her resignation with regret, as stated in the official statement signed by Kosgey.

Ngero was recently reassigned from the State Department for Performance Management & Delivery Services in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to the State Department for Correctional Services, which falls under the Ministry of Interior & National Administration.

During her brief tenure, Ngero made significant contributions by establishing the necessary institutional framework to facilitate the implementation of Public Service Performance Management and Monitoring for Ministries, State Departments, and State Agencies (MDAs).

With her background as a certified accountant and nearly two decades of experience in the petroleum sector, Ngero brought a unique perspective to her role as Principal Secretary.

President William Ruto expressed his gratitude to Ngero for her service to the nation and extended his best wishes for her future endeavors. Despite her relatively short time in office, the President acknowledged her dedication and efforts during her tenure.
